For every tear wiped off my face following this heartbreaking news there has also been a smile. It’s impossible not to smile every time I think of Sam. My inseparable best friend growing up and partner in crime. An electric personality, with an unforgettable aura and an energy rarely found in many. From playing endless games at 33b Old Road. Climbing the apple tree to singing Take That in my kitchen together, discussing our big plans for a boy band. Getting drunk, Epic plastic lightsaber duels, Championship bouts on the trampoline, battling on the basketball court, deafening me during any car journey completely eclipsing the radio. Crushing me in a maul as Rodger shouted “RUCK OVER TIVVY PACK”, Sam made whatever scenario we found ourselves in unforgettable. Although life sends people in different directions, I consider myself lucky. Incredibly lucky to have had Sam in my life. To have had him be my rock and best friend. To be the spark that lit every party I had and never failed to have me laugh until my tummy hurt. My true sadness is not in the people like me who have had the pure pleasure of knowing Sam. But In the unfortunate people who will never know his warm glow. I hope we can all take those experiences we have had with Sam and use just a little part of the glow he gave all of us and bring light to others as he has done for all of us every time he walked into a room. I love you Bruv, Ryan Perry.
